Who processes your data
Yoon Fret is published by Yoon, entreprise individuelle — RCCM SN DKR 2026 M 16445 — NINEA 008381022. The service is operated from Sénégal.
We connect shippers, carriers and merchants, and we secure freight payment. For any question about personal data: privacy@yoonfret.africa.
What we collect
We collect nothing beyond what is needed to run the freight marketplace. No data is sold, rented or used for advertising purposes.
| Category | Detail |
|---|---|
| Account | First name, last name, phone number, email address, role (shipper, carrier, merchant). The password is stored hashed with Argon2id, never in clear text. |
| KYC | Identity document for everyone. For carriers: driving licence, vehicle registration document, insurance certificate. These documents are verified manually and then stored in a private space. |
| Company | For legal entities: company name, RCCM registration, NINEA tax number, registered address, IBAN for carrier balance transfers. |
| Freight and missions | Origin, destination, corridor, nature of the goods, weight, volume, agreed price, exchanges of offers, rating and comment after delivery. |
| Vehicle position | GPS coordinates sent from the carrier’s phone during a mission. No position is recorded outside a mission in progress. |
| Payment | References of Mobile Money (Wave, Orange Money, MTN MoMo, YAS) and card transactions, amounts, statuses. We neither receive nor store your secret codes or your PIN. |
| Messages | Messages exchanged between shipper and carrier about a mission, and documents shared (loading note, seal photo, proof of delivery). |
| Technical | Device notification token, log of access to positions, login dates. Password reset tokens are stored as a fingerprint and erased after use. |
Location
The Carrier app sends the vehicle’s position in the background during a mission, including when the app is closed. That is the very function of the service: without it, no tracking is possible.
This transmission starts when the mission starts (pickup POD) and stops when it closes (delivery POD). It concerns the vehicle, never the carrier outside working hours.
The Shipper app may use your position occasionally, to suggest a suitable pickup point. You may decline: manual entry remains available.
Positions sent during a mission are visible only to the shipper of that mission and to the support team in the event of a dispute. They are erased automatically after twelve months.
KYC documents and verification
Verification is what makes Yoon Fret safe: an unverified carrier can neither submit an offer nor receive payment. We verify every document submitted manually.
KYC documents are stored in a private space, never reachable through a public address. Only authorised members of the compliance team have access, and every consultation is logged.
You may ask at any time for a document to be updated (renewed licence, new registration document); the previous one is replaced and is no longer viewable.
Escrow payment
Yoon Fret holds the shipper’s payment in escrow until delivery is confirmed. The funds are held by our licensed payment provider (Sycapay) and released to the carrier on validation, less the commission.
We never have access to your Mobile Money credentials: payment happens with your operator, inside its app (Wave, MAXIT, Orange) or through a request to approve on your phone (MTN MoMo, YAS), and is confirmed to us through a signed webhook. No PIN passes through our servers.
Who sees what
- A shipper sees their own freight, the offers received, and — once an offer is accepted — the identity of the chosen carrier and the truck’s position during the mission.
- A carrier sees the freight posted on their corridors, their own offers and missions, and the position they send themselves.
- A merchant sees only the freight they have posted themselves on behalf of a client.
- Our technical and compliance team accesses data only to maintain the service and to examine disputes. Every access to positions and to KYC documents is logged.
How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| GPS positions during a mission | Twelve months, then automatic deletion. Useful for examining a dispute. |
| Missions and payments | Ten years, required by OHADA accounting obligations and anti-money-laundering rules (BCEAO). |
| KYC documents | For the lifetime of the account, plus five years after it is closed, required by anti-money-laundering regulation. |
| Log of access to positions and KYC | Twelve months. This retention is what guarantees that no access goes unnoticed. |
| User account | Until a deletion request, subject to the data retained above under a legal obligation. |
Who it is shared with
We use technical service providers, who use this data only to deliver their service:
- Hosting of the application and the database.
- Mobile Money and card payment gateway (Sycapay, Wave, Orange Money, MTN MoMo, YAS, banking operators).
- Sending notifications to phones (Apple, Google and Expo notification services).
- Sending transactional emails and SMS (OTP, mission alerts).
- Displaying maps and computing routes.
Some providers have their servers outside Senegal. Data therefore travels abroad, to parties contractually bound to protect it and not to reuse it. Your data may also be passed to the Senegalese authorities upon a lawful request.
Your rights
Under Senegalese law no. 2008-12 on the protection of personal data, you have a right of access, rectification, objection and deletion over the data concerning you.
You may exercise these rights by writing to privacy@yoonfret.africa, or from your profile for updating your contact details and withdrawing an obsolete KYC document. We reply within 30 days.
Account deletion has a dedicated page, which details what is erased and what must be retained under accounting and anti-money-laundering obligations.
If a disagreement persists, you may refer the matter to Senegal’s Personal Data Protection Commission (CDP).
Security
- Exchanges between the apps and our servers are encrypted with TLS 1.3.
- Data at rest is encrypted with AES-256.
- Passwords are stored hashed with Argon2id, irreversibly.
- OTP authentication is mandatory when creating an account and for any sensitive action.
- Access to each piece of data is controlled according to the role and scope of the person logged in.
- KYC documents are only served through temporary links, never through a public address.
